Ann Demeulemeester is a Belgian designer who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and founded her eponymous label in 1985 with her partner Patrick Robyn, going on to become one of the "Antwerp Six" who presented in London in 1986 and turned the city into a fashion capital. Her tailoring is built on asymmetry, draping, and reversing the usual logic of construction, exactly the quality this suit's inverted seams put on display rather than hide.
