Guidi is an Italian leather house founded in 1896 as Conceria Guidi Rosellini in Pescia, Tuscany, and is still run today by Ruggero Guidi, a direct descendant of founder Guido Guidi. The tannery is known for object-dyeing: rather than coloring the leather before construction, finished boots are dyed and washed as whole objects, giving each pair its distinctive depth of tone. Guidi supplied leather to houses including Prada and Maison Margiela, and to Rick Owens, before launching its own footwear line in 2007. This pair was purchased new in Zürich, retail price CHF 1,140. Also searched as Guidi hiking boots, bison leather boots, or Italian object-dyed boots.
